A Parody of "This is Just to Say" by William Carlos Williams.

From Inside the Icebox
I am not sorry
for being a pear
and not a plum.

I am not sorry
for being unable
unwilling really
to fit into your icebox
or any box you’ve made for me.

I am only sorry
that you expect breakfast.

I won’t ask for forgiveness.
I am delicious, sweet,
and oh, so not cold.

FIRE EPHEMERAL

Ann London is a poet and writer who writes about beauty after fire, about culture, community and womens' issues. Her haunting poems and fiction expose the raw, ugly pain of life lived through hardship. She recently had the opportunity to work with the author and poet, Marge Piercy at a juried poetry workshop in Wellfleet, MA and her short story, The Farm is Quiet Now,  won a creative writing award, judged by Northwest writer Tom Robbins.

London has worked as a reporter/writer for a daily newspaper, studied method acting seriously for five years, including Improv and once got to fly in a P-51 Mustang, 300 mph over the Mohave Desert, which was "a total blast," she states.

.

Her energy, leadership, and commitment to excellence is a tone setter. A polished, determined example of discipline...Takes a lot of people with her."

Barry Grimes

You have plenty to say and there is an  underlying power that makes me want to work with you.
